Practical Information

Nordøyane belongs part to the municipality of Haram, part of the municipality of Ålesund. But don’t worry, it’s really no extra fuzz. But first a bit of info about the municipalities.

The Municipality of Haram

The islands of Nordøyane is for the most part included in the municipality of Haram, which offers various services such as forms, permits, and community programs. You can find more information at Haram kommune, call the municipality at (+47) 70 20 75 00 or visit the municipal office at Strandgata 40, 6270 Brattvåg.

The Municipality of Ålesund

Parts of the Nordøyane region is included in the municipality of Ålesund, which of course also offer services to its residents. You can find more information at Ålesund kommune, call the municipality at (+47) 70 16 20 00 or visit the city hall at Keiser Wilhelmsgate 11, 6003 Ålesund.

Haramsøy skule is a combined primary and secondary public school located in Austnes on Haramsøya. The school features a spacious and beautiful outdoor area, and the Nordøyhallen sports hall is adjacent to the building.

SFO: the school offers SFO, after-school care. It is a program in Norway designed for children in primary school (Grades 1–4) to offer care and activities outside regular school hours.

This mixed choir has members from all over Nordøyane, and has around 30 active singers from all age groups. Their repertoire is highly diverse, spanning both sacred and secular music – from gospel, film music, and country to ’70s hits.

Båtlaget is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the oak boat Ullaholm, built in 1936. Anyone can become a member, and the organization aims to be a meeting place for people across the region. Ullaholm Båtlag is committed to keeping traditional craftsmanship alive and teaching children and young people the values of good seamanship.

Has over 300 members and a wide range of activities. From football, fitness gym, climbing, workout groups for all ages, aerobic, tabata and more. Oh, and a big stadion for track, football and athletics! And that’s only the outdoor version. The indoor hall IP Huse hallen has a huge climbing wall, and a big artificial turf field.

Håp i Havet

A swimming facility with perhaps the best view in all of Norway! Soak in the warm pool while taking in sunsets –or dramatic storms– through the panoramic windows. In addition to a main pool, you’ll find a massage station, a kids’ pool, a fitness room, sauna, steam bath, and tanning beds. Ahhh...
